A lot of people were surprised when Nissan decided to discontinue the Juke, but that surprise was quickly waylaid with the introduction of the exciting Nissan Kicks. The new subcompact crossover joined the lineup in 2016 and has been a great addition ever since. It’s currently available right here at our showroom in Duncan BC, making a great option for any shopper in the market for an entry-level utility vehicle. For 2021, the model even received a mid-generation facelift that has it feeling fresh and new.
As we mentioned, the 2021 Nissan Kicks underwent a mid-generation facelift before entering the 2021 model year, which we’re stoked about. It received some fresh aesthetics and design cues as well as a host of upgraded features and tech, but let’s dive into some of the highlights. When it comes to the infotainment system, the Kicks now offers a standard 7” display audio system or an 8” option in the SV and SR trim levels. The system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard technologies, as well as a trio of USB ports – the SV and SR trims even get USB Type-C. Kicks also come with the modern 1.6-liter engine, Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), and lightweight design that gives you an exceptional fuel economy rating of 31 City MPG / 36 Highway MPG. It delivers a horsepower of 122 hp at 6,300 rpm and a torque of 114 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm.
Stick to the inside, the center console, seating, and trim materials have all been updated for the new model year. Additionally, a 7” driver information display has been added to the instrument cluster, providing even more technology in the cabin. On the outside, the exterior style was refreshed as well, including available LED headlights, a new “Double V-motion” grille, and brand-new wheels. Finally, a wide variety of new exterior colors give you even more choice than previous iterations, including some two-tone possibilities.
Available at a starting MSRP of $19,550, the 2021 Nissan Kicks is available at three different trim levels: S, SV, and SR. The other big enhancement for the new model year is the addition of rear disc brakes to the SV and SR trim levels.
